Today we are going to discuss about Future Indefinite Tense and its Type of Sentences. We will also try to understand its Structures and Rules with examples. So let’s know :
What is Future Indefinite Tense | Simple Future Tense
Future Indefinite Tense : When an action is completed in the coming time, that is, when an action is perceived to be in the future, then it is called Future Indefinite Tense.
It is also called a Simple Future Tense due to any general work done in future.To understand this, let us look at some examples :

She will speak Hindi. | We shall write a book. |
Ram will sing a song. | They will finish their work. |
Friends! After reading these examples carefully, you observe the following points :
- You find that the 1st form of the verb is being used in all these sentences.
- In these sentences, You see two types of helping verb : Will / Shall
— It is clear from both the above points that the “Will / shall” is used as a Helping Verb in the Future Indefinite Tense and the verb always has the first form. But which structures and rules have to be kept in mind in this tense? Let’s study in detail about it :
Important Rules of Future Indefinite Tense :
Friends! Keeping some important rules in mind, you can easily understand the future indefinite tense :
- One thing you have to keep in mind in this tense is that there is always a use of the Helping Verb — “Shall ” with “I and We” only, while the Helping Verb — “Will ” is used with all the singular and plural subjects.
- The 1st form of the verb is always used in this tense.

Affirmative Sentences | Simple Sentence :
Understand the structure of simple sentence of future indefinite tense :
For Plural (I, We) : | Subject + | shall + | 1st Form of Verb + | Object + | Others. |
For all other Subjects : | Subject + | will + | 1st Form of Verb + | Object + | Others. |

Negative Sentence :
In Negative Sentence, “not” is always used after the helping verb. Understand the structure of Negative sentence of future indefinite tense :

Interrogative Sentence :
The interrogative sentence always starts with a helping verb and at the end comes a question mark. Understand the structure of Interrogative Sentence of future indefinite tense :

Interrogative Negative Sentence :
It is very similar to Interrogative sentence. You have to add the “not” immediately after the subject. Understand the structure of Interrogative Negative Sentence of future indefinite tense :
